A day in the life of the Shenandoah University Game Room!!!
Canna was something that was easy and fun to play with. Until you really dig deep into the program it has so much to offer for being so tech savvy. Anyways this is what I came up with.
The First Amendment iMovie!!!!!
A day and a trip to Norway. If you go to SU and don't take the opportunity to apply for GCP YOUR MISSING OUT!!!!!!!
Pets Eye View: The day in the life of a dog that we desperately want at 1400 Valley ave would definitely be interesting. Our house has a lot of steps but also a lot of floor space to wander around. I had never thought about what it would be like to see the world from that close to the ground. I found myself crawling on my floor to try to get an idea of the perspective. I found that seeing the world like that would be terrible. I saw that you miss out on everything that is above you and to me in my eyes are definitely the most important sense I have. To be able to see is one of the greatest most beautiful traits have and are lucky enough to wake up and do everyday. So not being able to see parts of the world, to me would be devastating.
Self Portrait: I took a little twist on this assignment. I felt after reading the description of what it should be about, it drove me towards the words how do you want people to see you. That really made me think a lot about what do I truly want people to see me for. Well this may sound crazy but over the last few months I have been all about growing out my hair. Its finally getting longer but let me tell you when I get out of bed its a damn mess and it takes me forever to get it looking right. So I decided to take a picture of myself every morning, in the someplace, in the same shirt, to show what my hair looks like straight out of bed. Then I thought to my self on the last day before we have to submit the assignment, I was going to take a picture showing how my hair looks after the long process of getting it ready to go out in public. This maybe dumb for wanting people to see me for my hair but its something that is yours, and something that you can truly be creative with.
My Neighborhood: I walked around my neighborhood a decent amount even before this assignment. I have been able to meet all of my neighbors and really get to know them as people and just not someone who lives next to me. But with this assignment I was forced to pay attention to detail about what my neighborhood is truly made up of. I realized that there is a ton my nature then I actually had seen before, but I also learned that Whitlock Rd has been around for a very long, which you can see as a common theme in my pictures. I saw it on the arch way at my neighbors home, the street sign, and even the building a little ways down from my house. I did some research and my house was built in the 1930's and Whitlock has been around almost since the 1980's.
For this project I chose to stand on the corner of Valley Ave and Jubal Early. I picked this location due to the fact that it is one of the most busy intersections in Winchester and I know this because I sit at this exact light every morning for at least 5 minutes. What shocked me was how hard it was to stand in one place and develop 24 unique pictures. I thought it would be easy to just look and snap, but after putting the grid feature on my iPhone, I began to look at taking picture differently and aligning certain points up with the three spots we talked about in class. Other then the soul fact I was getting weird looks from people as they drove by, this assignment was fun and really made me think outside the box. Lastly I learned that paying attention to very specific detail is key when aligning a picture to make it just right.
